Christmas Festivities
Christmas Festivities at Stowford
We have enjoyed our yearly tradition of having a large fir tree delivered from the local Lukesland Estate. The tree has been kindly donated by parents who have had their children attend Stowford School in the past. The delivery of the 10ft tree caused lots of excitement during the children’s lunch hour! Children in the School Council and children from the Nursery were invited to decorate the tree, which now stands resplendent in our hall, ready to plays its role in all our Christmas festivities! These will include our KS1 Performance of ‘A Christmas Celebration’ and a KS2 Performance of ‘Carols by Candlelight’. The ‘Carols by Candle-light’ Performance will also be taking place in the Ivybridge Methodist Church, which always provides a beautiful setting for this event.
We will also be having a special Christmas Lunch and Christmas Jumper Day where staff will serve children their Christmas Dinner whilst dressed up in a variety of Christmas hats and outfits to add even more fun to this happy occasion! Our lovely Stowford Choir, which succeeded to be one of the Finalist Choirs in the BBC Radio Devon’s Star for Christmas Competition, are visiting 2 local nursing homes to share their evocative rendition of ‘Hallelujah’ as well as other traditional carols.
