Welcome to Year 6 with Miss Hughes and Mrs Coaker.
Year 6 – Autumn Term
We have had an extremely exciting start to the term with our residential visit to Beam House. The children spent four nights in North Devon where they abseiled, surfed, zip-lined and created memories to last a lifetime.
Back at school, children have settled into Year Six brilliantly and are fantastic role-models for the rest of the school. We have also been very excited to elect our house captains, members of parliament and mental health ambassador.
In class, we have been extremely busy in all areas of the curriculum. Some of our favourite parts: reading and exploring Rooftoppers by Katherine Rundell, re-writing The Boy Who Cried Wolf from the boy's perspective and becoming fluent in our arithmetic skills.
To finish the term, KS2 performed three carol concerts at Ivybridge Methodist Church. We sang many songs from O Holy Night to Ding Dong Merrily On High. The year 6 song was 'A Christmas Hallelujah' and sounded absolutely beautiful. Year sixes were also responsible for the readings and they did this with confidence and clarity.
