Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND)

Stowford has an inclusive ethos and we aim to support and meet the needs of all our pupils.  

We currently have pupils with a range of special needs including cognitive and learning difficulties, communication and interaction difficulties, including those on the autistic spectrum, pupils with sensory difficulties and pupils with social, emotional mental health difficulties. 

Stowford School is an accessible site with double doors, ramps and an accessible parking bay.  We have 2 lifts ensuring access to all levels of our school building and a medical room with hoist and changing facilities.

We liaise with outside agencies where needed and endeavour to do our best for every child. Our special needs co-ordinator (SENDCo) is Ms Zofia Rumistrzewicz but all staff would be happy to discuss any concerns you have at any time so that we can support all our children so they can learn, progress and be happy.

Talented, Able and Gifted Pupils

At Stowford we recognise when children shine!  

Whether it is in an academic subject, in sports, music or in ability to debate we notice them and enrich their experience during their journey through school. This may be within school or by using opportunities outside school e.g. with our feeder secondary school Ivybridge Community College or with special ‘one off’ chances like marine biology at Plymouth Aquarium.
